Kevin and Amanda's Living Room

The living room hasn't been updated *too* much since the last time I posted pictures, but we did paint the walls which is a major improvement! :) After testing out several brands and colors looking for the perfect "taupe", we finally decided to go with Sherwin Williams Latte. It's exactly what I had in mind, and we are very pleased with the results! :)

After living here for almost 5 years, we decided it was time to put up some curtains and shades!!! So I made the curtains and a few throw pillows to match, and Kevin hung everything. :D The curtains and pillows were one of the first few things I've ever sewn, but I am fairly pleased with the way they turned out. I think they give the room a little warmth. :)
As a side note, the middle picture above is the first thing you see when you walk in the front door. :)

Also, to the right of the couch is the really cool storage tray ottoman we got from Overstock.com The lid comes off and it's a great place to stash the dog's toys. And when company comes over, you can flip the lid over and it turns into a tray for drinks. :)

The Foyer
When we painted the living room, we also painted our front door red! We love it! It really gives some "punch" to the room. :)

We also added this cubby shelf and bench from Overstock.com Unfortunately, it didn't come with the baskets to go in the cubbies, and I had a heck of a time finding baskets that fit and looked okay! I finally found these at Michaels, and my friend Heather helped me make basket liners to match. :) Now I just need to put something on the shelf... :)

The baskets are a great place to keep the dogs clothes, collars, leashes, and anything else we might need to grab as we walk out the door for a walk. :) The bottom three baskets are filled with Miley's clothes, so Howie has to share one little basket for his clothes and collars. ;)
