I’m no expert but you just need all the letters in capitals and lowercase, and some punctuation and numbers 0-9. So what I would suggest is if you maybe scan in some of the cards in your father’s handwriting and see if you can get all the letters that way, then email them and see if they can get converted.

Tami, I use them on my Mac without any difficulty. Just download and put into path:

Macintosh HD > Library > Fonts

There was a service called Fontifier that did the same, but it was like $10 – not sure if they’re still around, though.
I don’t need it personally, my handwriting is a disaster, I wouldn’t want it as a font!

I was able to download and use these fonts on a MAC no problem. Just click on the cute framed button that looks like a ceramic plaque that says “download now” or “download all.” Then go to your downloads (in your finder window) and open the font you want to install (it will open a new window that shows the font) and click on the install button. Restart your computer to use your font. Easy peasy. (Works on OS X)

I was wondering if it would be possible to convert handwriting to a font from a sample of my father’s handwriting? He passed away a few years ago, so I obviously can’t have him fill out the template, but I do have samples of his handwriting on birthday cards, etc. I want to use his handwriting for the font of a memorial tattoo I am planning. Every site I have found requires a template to be filled out. I am not very computer savvy, so I don’t know what goes into making fonts. If anyone could answer this question for me I would be very appreciative.

Hey! I just sent mine in, doodles and all! All the other sites i have used make it so difficult, and refuse my messy writing style! I am exited, and hope that you do in fact choose to make mine in to a font, i have been wanting a font of my own for ages!

Amanda dear, I’m really impressed with your website! I can just see you now , just like when we were young….doing all of this!! lol! I’m going to try and send my handwriting in and see what you can do with it. My only issue may be my scanner. I would use my office one, but I’m not sure how to change the settings on a huge office copier/printer/fax/scanner machine, but maybe it won’t be too bad! I’m going to share this with the other realtors in my office…we love fonts!! I also wanted to know if you could just do my signature in addition to my font. I would love to have an email signature that was my actual signature, you know? I computer literate, but no way near as savvy as you! You should call me sometimes so we can catch up!! I love your 4 legged kids…I have several myself!
