How do I use these fonts??!

The Fonts for Peas and Free Scrapbook Fonts can be used in *any* program where you normally use fonts. To name just a few of the many examples: You can use them in word processing programs like Microsoft Word, Word Perfect, or OpenOffice. Or you can use them in photo editing programs like MS Paint, Corel Paint Shop Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Photofiltre, the Gimp, and many, many more.

The fonts can also be used on a Blogger/Blogspot blog. Here’s how.

For a step-by-step picture tutorial on how to download and install the fonts, please select your operating system:

Windows XP

Windows Vista

Mac OSX

If your operating system is not listed above, do a Google search for:
“How to download and install fonts in _______________” and fill in the blank with your operating system
(i.e. Windows 98)

*After downloading and installing, if you have done it properly, the fonts will show up in the font drop down box in your favorite program that uses fonts.

Okay, I’ve downloaded and installed the fonts!
Now how do I use them in my scrapbook?

Here are a couple articles to get you started. Pretty soon you’ll be fonting like a pro! :D

Computer Journaling Basics – This informative article from Denise Gormish at Scrapjazz.com goes over the basics of using fonts in a word processing program, then printing them out to use in your traditional, paper and scissors scrapbook. :)

How to use Fonts in a Photo Editing Program – Jen Strange offers this great article on how to use fonts in Adobe Photoshop. This is a great resource if you want to use fonts in Digital Scrapbooking or to make an image using fonts and text to make, for example, a blog banner for your blog! :)

Hi, I have Windows 7 too and it took me some time to figure it out. After you install the font, go to downloads and open the font, it will show a preview of it. Then on the top left corner it says Print and Install. Click on install. Then you can use it in Word or other programs. You can also see the installed font in Control Panel in Fonts (if you can’t see it, search Fonts in the right hand corner search for Control Panel) and then look for the font you downloaded, it should be there. Hope this helps!

I love your fonts! I’ve been using them for awhile now, and just upgraded to a Windows 7 computer. I can’t seem to figure out how to install them, which is making me so sad! Any suggestions? Thanks!!

I’ve had the same problem, and just figured it out (again…I knew I had done it before!) So here is the way I found that works.
1. Click on a single font displayed in Amanda’s post.
2. A new window comes up with only that font. Click on the cute button that says “Download now”. (Watch out for the ad with the plain download button that gives you a file viewer, NOT the font.)
3. After you click “Download now”, a small window pops up asking if you want to “OPEN”, “SAVE”, or “SAVE AS”. Choose OPEN.
4. Another window opens with the file listed. Double-click on the file.
5. The font pops up in another window, and there is an “INSTALL” button up on the left hand side.
6. Click that, and when it goes gray, your font has been installed.

I haven’t figured out how to do more than one at a time…so this is slow, but it will get them for you!

Really like the fonts. I have a viking embroidery machine and would like to use the fonts with some of my designs. Can I do this with your permission, and how do I go about it? I have 4D software from viking. Please let me know if this is possible.
Thanks and hope to hear from U soon.

Hey! Thanks for the fonts!! 2 questions because I kinda did two different things: When I came to the last step to right click and install, I did not have the option to install when I right clicked. What does that mean? Also, I clicked on the download all button and it took me through all these windows where I had to keep clicking accept, it installed a lot of programs like the Yahoo Toolbar and Weatherbug and Games…is that normal? But I didn’t see anything about the fonts once it downloaded those programs…please help.. :)

I love the Pea Snoflake. I downloaded it along with the “doodles”.
My only problem is how to use the doodles. I’m not sure which keys correspond to which doodles.
Thanks for any help and I love the fonts!!!

I suggest typing each key in keyboard order and seeing what comes out and then do it again with the ‘caps’ key on. You’ll see what each key is that way.

Right now I am just playing with different Pea fonts and doodles. I am using Windows 7. Everything downloads and installs properly, I just am having trouble figuring out which keys work which doodles. Can you help. Right now I am playing in Pea Snoflake Doodles. Thanks, Ev

Hi, Just wondering if I can use these fonts for educational products that I I give away or sell? I wouldn’t be selling the fonts, but would be using the font to type up an educational worksheet.

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

I’m working on a project in Storybook Creator+ 4.0 that calls for the Dig My Hart font. I downloaded and unzipped your file but cannot get SBC to recognize it. Any tips?

I just clicked the normal Download buttons and had to go through all of those prompts. It said it installed something on my computer. Does this mean I’m going to get a virus and have major pop-ups now?!

How can I download all the fonts, (I clicked the button, and I know how to install them seperately) without installing one by one?

Reply

MoonShadow June 5, 2012 at 12:58 am

Hi. Just letting you know that your install routine does not work. I do not know what versions of Vista or Firefox etc., you used when you set up these installation instructions, but following them does not offer you the opportunity to install. Only to print. I tried it with the latest service pack and the current versions of Firefox and IE. I got around the problem using a third party font management system, but many people (as evidenced by some already posting a bout the same problem) will not have that option. You have some nice fonts there, lots of fun to play with. Cheers…

MoonShadow June 5, 2012 at 1:29 am

Replying to my own reply…

It is easy enough to install them by downloading the font, dragging it to the desktop, unzipping it it (usually just right click and select “open”) then running the “Fonts” option in Control Panel. Hit the Alt key to open the file menu from the font list that appears and choose “Add font”. Delete the font files on your desktop and you are done.
